Hotlines, Centers and Clinics

Dial 2-1-1 2-1-1 is a free, non-emergency, confidential, 3-digit phone number and service that provides easy access to housing information, and critical health and human services. 2-1-1 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with multi-lingual capabilities.

Provides homeless services, grief & crisis counseling, information & referral, and youth violence prevention.  Provides a comprehensive, current directory of services and their providers, by category as well  as by type of services needed, including County Online Resource Directory (CORD), 211, search by region, and more.

Contra Costa County Homeless Hotline

The Homeless Hotline is a 24-hour toll-free number dedicated to assisting homeless persons in need by providing information and referrals to services in Contra Costa and maintains the waiting list for the County emergency shelters. Phones are answered by staff who may help assess needs and can make referrals to area agencies.

Contra Costa County Violence
and Trauma Counseling:

West County Residents experiencing Violence - related Anxiety or Other Stress Reactions can call the Contra Costa Mental Health Access Line: 888-678-7277.

Licensed mental health professionals answer this line. Any crisis issues will be discussed and appropriate crisis intervention services arranged and delivered the same day. Individuals not in crisis but still in need of supportive mental health services will have their needs discussed and will be referred to appropriate mental health services as indicated. All mental health services will be provided in West County.

The West Contra Costa Children's Clinic

The West Contra Costa Children's Clinic provides group and one-on-one counseling service to students who are experiencing trauma symptoms and/or witnessed recent violence. For appointments and drop-ins, the clinic address is 303 41st Street in Richmond. For all field calls related to children and families who have witnessed recent violece and who may be experiencing trauma, please call 510-374-3261.

Emergency Shelter for families mid-October through April 1st. Families include children of all ages, both sexes, disabled, elderly.

Provides shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. For Richmond residents, there is an office in Richmond that provides counseling and support groups.
